Abstract
Three specialists in early childhood teaching, language and research, respectively, documents and analyze the reflections and experiences of ten early childhood teachers. These preschool teachers were participants in a pilot project called Early Reading First at the Department of Education of Puerto Rico (DEPR). Their experiences in teaching language skills, cognitive and reading skills to 2.5 to 5 year old children are documented.
