Abstract
Deaf students have serious difficulties at the time of selecting a college career. The article focuses on the need counselors have for an instrument to assist them in facilitating Deaf students in their transition to college life. This last concept is discussed, followed by the functions and professional preparation that each counselor must have to work with the Deaf population. Finally, the author presents Eco-Informe, an instrument to improve the process of transition of this population to postsecondary studies. This instrument is based on the Ecological model for transition to college life for Deaf students while at the secondary level, that was developed by Martínez (2005).
