Abstract
This article defines charter schools in Puerto Rico and explains the opportunities charter schools can offer and how they can improve the education in Puerto Rico. It also describes the implications that the proposed law (P. del S. 26) of charter schools will have in the educational system of Puerto Rico. The emphasis of the article is to help educational leaders understand charter schools concept and the proposed law in Puerto Rico.
