Abstract

The academic culture of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) is a microcosm of the country’s governmental administration. Both are not products of a long-term sustainability plan with a clear path to where we are going. Despite multiple warnings, we continue on the same path of only surviving and not fully thriving. For this reason, when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, the island improvised with a poorly implemented distance education. After experimenting for several semesters, we are still not moving forward.
