Abstract
This theoretical essay presents violence as a problem in the contextual framework of educational settings, and analyzes it from three areas of foundations of education: sociology, philosophy and psychology. It also discusses the views on violence from several theorists related to these disciplines and explains how they relate to the concept and model of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Then, it offers a systemic approach based on CNV support groups as a viable alternative to school violence. Finally, it presents conclusions regarding this topic, as well as recommendations and implications for education.
