Abstract

The purpose of this research was to integrate writing and the plastic arts through the creative process of ten art students, in order to ascertain the characteristics of their writings, to explore the correspondence between their artwork and the writing process, as well as to study their reflections about the creative process, as a matter of language. Five females and five males students from different artistic concentrations participated in this study. They were asked to keep a journal about their creative process during one semester. The research revealed an existing parallelism between the students‘ creative processes in their writing and the plastic arts. Writing in the journals helped them to organize and conceptualize the artistic projects. It also motivated them to reflect both on their creative process and their writing.
