Abstract

This article focus its attention in the description of elements and key dimensions that the institutions of higher education must consider as part of the internationalization process. Based on the revision of literature and a study that the author has in progress, reflect on the discussion to examine diverse models or strategies for the internationalization process. The programmatic administrative and academic component is one that at the end accounts to transform the projects and goals of internationalization into concrete realities. It illustrates, with a comparative table, two great centers of strategies that could be used. It concludes that the application of anyone of these will have to be on the base of a selfstudy, the institutional culture and context, the fiscal resources and the concept of internationalization that is adopted.
