Abstract
This work examines three dimensions in how to approach the construction plan of the internationalization goal, that is: the concept of internationalization, the planning process and institutional review, and the strategies to achieve implementation. It examines and evaluates these dimensions in order to establish a common language and meanings, to appraise the value of strategies and set priorities that would lead to a strategic plan that will facilitate the assessment of the institutional international dimension. The author articulates in each section relevant research with the incorporation of some alignments and proposals. The author concludes that a vision and plan that assumes the concept of internationalization as a process is able to promote an ample range of activities, policies and strategies that will facilitate -with priorities and phases- the creation of an organizational atmosphere that will construct a sustainable international culture.
