Abstract

The relevance of Puerto Rican culture in the management of human resources finds itself in a definitive moment due to the crisis of attitudes and values in the work culture, as well as the service in organizations in Puerto Rico. This article addresses the interview made to Dr. Justo Méndez Colón, who warns about the lines that the manager of human resources in Puerto Rico should consider for the change of behavior and the transformation of the work culture. More generally, the article mentions the definition of culture, the preeminence of Puerto Rican culture in the human resources management, the opportunity of the development of cultural awareness in the workplace, and the controversy related to aligning Puerto Rican culture in organizations.
