Resumen

Este trabajo tuvo como propósito evaluar la influencia de las prácticas del área de recursos humanos fundamentadas en el compromiso, la retención y el desempeño organizacional. El diseño es cuantitativo, correlacional y transversal. Se realizaron análisis descriptivos e inferenciales mediante el uso de regresión categórica. Se consideraron nueve prácticas de recursos humanos, tres categorías sobre el desempeño organizacional y una de retención de empleados. Los resultados demuestran que las prácticas de recursos humanos estudiadas influyen en la retención de empleados, la seguridad de empleo, adiestramiento y desarrollo, y la calidad del trabajo. Esta investigación fortalece la literatura en la que se establece que las prácticas de recursos humanos fundamentadas en el compromiso son instrumentales para retener empleados y promover el desempeño de la organización.
