Abstract
The way in which knowledge was managed in four academic and investigative information units was analyzed; three libraries (one from Puerto Rico and two from Colombia) and an institutional archive. The methodology used was direct observation of four aspects: 1) organizational culture, knowledge transmission model, 2) knowledge organization system, 3) use of technology, and 4) interest in research to improve.
