Abstract
This book review is centered on the way in which the juvenile literature novel, El bálsamo de Medulosa, by Dr. Sylma García González, is not only a profound and imaginative reformulation of some fascinating aspects of the first modern novel, El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de La Mancha, and its sequel, El ingenioso caballero don Quijote de La Mancha, by Miguel de Cervantes, but also serves as a means for teachers to arouse students’ interest in this immortal classic and allows them to engage in a game with their students in which they can follow in the footsteps of the Manchegan hero and his adventures guided by its protagonist.
