Abstract

This article encompasses an analysis of the relationship between the house, alienation and the discourse in the novels Miau, by Benito Pérez Galdós, and Coronación (Coronation), by José Donoso. Rather than a study of influences, this study observes the affinities between both narratives. Galdós‘ novel shows advancement in the most important technique that Donoso will develop in his initial novel, which will be expanded later in El obsceno pájaro de la noche (The Obscene Bird of the Night).
