Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of discursive representations that articulate the professional training of Act No. 75 of 2008, Act Continuing Education of Social Workers of Puerto Rico. The discursive representations that articulate the professional training of Puerto Rican Social Work must be analyzed through the contradictions, changes and transformations of subjects within the framework of the complexities of contemporary societies. I believe that the Law of Social Work Continuing Education is built from a traditional view which exeludes the analysis of changes in capital-labor ratio and the "social question" and its implication on social policy. In order to overcome this dilemma I propose a critical analysis of the construction of professional training within the current context taking into consideraron the discussion of ethical and political project of social work in Puerto Rico.
