Abstract
This article examines Condorcet‘s Memoirs, a basic document for understanding the installation of the predominance of a scientific and technological bend in modern education, an influence which prevails until today. Nicholas Condorcet‘s addresses to the Revolutionary French Government (1792) in order to introduce a reform in public instruction initiate the ascendence of a scientific and technological approach to education which coincide with the decline of humanistic schooling.
