Resumen

En este escrito se abordan los fundamentos teóricos de apego y los principios básicos experienciales y sistémicos de la Terapia de Pareja Centrada en las Emociones (TCE). Se describe la función de la emoción como un agente de cambio en la relación de pareja y se discuten los conceptos principales, las tres etapas y los nueve pasos de la TCE. Además, se presentan algunas técnicas y ejercicios experienciales para familiarizar al lector con los procesos terapéuticos básicos que competen a este modelo de psicoterapia. Finalmente, se presenta una viñeta que ilustra la aplicación de las técnicas de la TCE y se discuten algunos de los retos que frecuentemente enfrentan los terapeutas al trabajar con las parejas para promover la sintonía emocional mediante la aplicación de este modelo.
