Theme and scope
AnálisiS is an open access arbitrated journal of the Graduate School of Social Work Beatriz Lasalle (GSSWBL), Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, which purpose is to disseminate original articles in the field of Social Work, Social Policies and Social and Human Sciences in general, that are relevant to the Puerto Rican social reality, and to the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region and of Latin communities in the United States.
AnálisiS journal aims to provide a forum for students, teachers, and practitioners of Social Work and related disciplines to publish experiences, practices, and results of their research mainly in Puerto Rican, Latin American and Latino society in the United States. The articles that are submitted to the AnálisiS magazine should be oriented with the purposes of the journal; therefore, they should:
- Be related to practice, teaching and social research in social work and related disciplines, social policies or human rights.
- Be relevant to Puerto Rican social reality or to the country of origin of the people who write the article.
- Follow the publication guidelines stipulated by this Journal.
In addition to publishing articles and other creative pieces of work and writing, the Journal will have other sections of interest that includes: thesis and dissertation reviews of the GSSWBL, information on news and events, as well as documents of interest for the Editorial Board such as presentations that, due to exceptionality could not be published as articles and a classic article by number in a retrospective section. The numbers may or may not have a theme. The news and non-business events of other academic units or national and regional professional bodies of interest for social work and social sciences, in general, may be sent to revista.análisis@upr.edu. The name of the event, place, date and time and sponsoring entity must be specified.
The pieces of writing to be considered for publication are:
- Research or systematization articles
- Review articles
- Essays
- Short articles (research advances, autoethnographic)
- Annotated bibliography (or thematic reviews)
- Reviews of books, magazines, reports, Web pages and blogs
- Interviews
- Photo essays
Details of each of the above, as well as the guide to submit papers, are included in the Publication Policy.
AnálisiS journal will be published in its final version twice a year, June and December. However, the call and reception of papers will be continuous and the pieces of writing will be published as they are accepted.
So far, it has sixteen (16) volumes printed between 2000 and 2016. To ensure broad access to the articles published in the printed version of the AnálisiS journal, these volumes have been digitized and posted on this platform.
Policies and Guidelines for submitting papers
- Publication Policy: specifies standards for the publication of papers, and types of papers that will be accepted, and criteria.
- Ethical Conduct Policy: specifies the rules of academic honesty and the criteria to identify and distinguish main authors from those that are secondary or collaborators.
- Copyrights and Open Access Policy: describes the rights retained by authors whose works are accepted for publication and the acceptable uses of publications.
- Peer Evaluation Policy: describes the process of peer evaluation and acceptance of the pieces of writing.
- Digital Archive Preservation Policy: it identifies where the archives of submitted and published pieces of writing are stored.
Open Access Policy
This Journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge, according to Creative Commons licenses. The authors retain the copyright on their works.
