Abstract

The works of Pablo Antonio Cuadra are marked by the reality of interbreeding, both for himself and his environment. Since the Nicaraguan "vanguardistas" claim their identity comes from the antagonism they acknowledge between two spaces, national and European, be it geographical, cultural or ideological, we will study the meaning of space for the poet. We emphasize the relationship between the space occupied by the person, and the word's primordial function that enables to dominate the environment and organise it: the immediate space, and then a widening horizon, for the wayfaring people that received from their double origin the pulsion of adventure, but were also submitted to seculary migrations and harrowing exiles.
