Los clíticos en el habla culta de la generación joven de San Juan, Puerto Rico

Abstract

This study describes the use and function of clitics (la/las, lo/los, le/les) in the language of Puerto Rican Spanish based in a corpus of interviews compiled by Iris Yolanda Reyes Benítez in El habla culta de la generación joven de San Juan, La Habana y Santo Domingo (2001), tome I. The methodology is the same as María Vaquero‘s study "Clíticos en el habla urbana de San Juan" (1977). The results of this study were compared with the conclusions of Vaquero‘s study even though she studied a different generation of people.
