Abstract

Average maximum, minimum, and average daily temperatures were used to estimate potential evaportranspiration (PET) with Hargreaves and Somani's PET model. Estimated PET values and crop coefficients were used to estimate consumptive use (CU) from sweet corn. Net irrigation requirement for sweet corn from 10 December to 10 March 1986 were calculated with CU and rainfall data. Net irrigation requirement was estimated to be 35.7 cm. The CU was 4.0, 11.6, 15.4, and 8.0 cm for initial growth maturity, and senescense stages, respectively.
