Abstract
The present study aimed to analyze the employees‘ perception towards several variables such as gender, generation, religion, and nationality, as an agent of acceptance to diversity (CAID, abbreviated in Spanish by its acronym) and the way sexual orientation is perceived (POS, abbreviated in Spanish by its acronym). Data was collected through the administration of a survey to 509 employees from different sectors and analyzed by the Structural Equation Models-Partial Least Square. Findings have shown that CAID played an important role in the way workers perceived sexual orientations. Demonstrating that an employee‘s posture towards sexual orientation can be significantly influenced by the individual‘s ethnic and cultural background, while on the other hand, a worker‘s views on gender are usually determined by its own generation. The models utilized to measure Diversity climate have not included the variable Perceived sexual orientations, for which reason the conducted study has significant findings that could contribute to the field of Human Resources.
