Abstract

This article discusses the national and Latin American influences in the approach of the Taller (Workshop)as a pedagogical foundation of Social Work education at the University of Costa Rica in the early seventies of the twentieth century. The Taller was seen as a learning strategy that would integrate theory with practice, participatory group work, and would narrow links of the students with the popular groups.
