Nowadays, digital information is part of the citizen environments of the 21st century, however, many information resources were developed before the digital age. To offer access to students and academics, these can be digitized, providing 24/7 access and, at the same time, contributing to the preservation of the original material, avoiding its manipulation. Professor Almeyda answers questions about the document digitization project of the Biblioteca y Hemeroteca Puertorriqueña, what motivated this effort, how it has been developed, and what its future looks like.
