Abstract
This is a brief note on the stay in Puerto Rico of Juan Ramón Jiménez and his wife Zenobia Camprubí (1951-1958). During those years their lives were closely connected to the University of Puerto Rico, where they taught and in which Juan Ramón, in spite of his health problems, participated in diverse activities. Visits to schools, literary celebrations, advice to younger writers, creation of an art museum, and diverse publications are some examples of his activities during that period. Upon receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature not long after the death of his wife, and being sick, Juan Ramón asked the Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico to represent him in the official ceremony in Stockholm. Before his death Juan Ramón donated to the University of Puerto Rico an important set of documents and materials that have since been held at the Zenobia and Juan Ramón Jiménez Room in the UPR.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
