Abstract

In this paper we refer to the breadth of topics that appear in the notebooks of Martí, within which the social aspect occupies an important place. Marti joins within it geographically and highlights the historical and particularly American. Within its social interests it can also include their profound intellectual curiosity about the origins of culture and art of the most diverse peoples, by linkages and referrals between them, and properly by aspects of the culture of a country. We refer briefly, although not the focus of the trial, his philological interests, among which highlight the conception of language as an integral and active part of the universe is governed by its laws, including details etymological, one of the tracks processes indubitable cultural and epistemological assimilation in his work. A recurring theme of these books is the concept of duty and its practical value, and is also addressed in detail in the article.
