Abstract

The Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, founded in 1928, published its first article on Dominican literature in 1979. Its author was Doris Sommer. From this moment on, the journal has maintained constant interest in this literature, evidenced by the constant publication of articles and book reviews. In this essay these last twenty eight years of the journal are examined. There are fourteen articles and five book reviews concerning the literary production of the Dominican Republic. The articles focus on works by very important authors such as Salomé Ureña, Juan Bosch, Pedro Mir and José Alcántara Almánzar. Most of the articles are about narrative fiction and poetry. All in all, they are a very valuable contribution to the study of Dominican literature.
