On contemporary discomforts and capitalist discourse

Abstract

Analysis of contemporary discomforts in Puerto Rico from the essays compiled in the book Trauma, consumption and addictions, psychosis: reflections on some contemporary discomforts Ediciones Gaviota. The theory of the four discourses that make up the social bond elaborated by Jacques Lacan in The Reverse of Psychoanalysis 1969-1970 is used. Seminar 17. Capitalist discourse is emphasized to contextualize the concepts of trauma, consumption, and addiction. The discussion is intertwined with the poetry of Francisco Matos Paoli.
