Abstract

By the year 1975, the world population is expected to reach 4 billion human beings. As the population continues to grow, there will be growing concern about how to prevent or avoid large-scale famine. Concurrently, an energy crisis (caused by fuel shortages and high fuel prices) is expected as the world's population continues  as reserves of the non-renewable resource of fuels are rapidly depleting. The energy crisis is also expected to have a significant impact on production technology,
on food production technology in the United States and on the "green revolution"  because both crop production systems depend on large inputs of energy
