Abstract

The planning approach in Puerto Rico has been more comprehensive than in other countries around the world.Unlike the planning that takes place in the states and municipalities of our northern partners, our planning extends and is based on socioeconomic aspects.Contrary to the type of planning of most underdeveloped countries including Latin America, our planning is affected by spatial factors.These space facotes are linked to social and economic ones to formulate what we call ''comprehensive planning''
