Abstract
Taking as a reference that in Puerto Rico the participation of women in drug trafficking is increasing, this work collates some narratives of women confined for related crimes, to carry out a discourse analysis, which allows to account for their insertion in activities dominated by men. Through the narratives of some confined women about how they perceive their participation in drug trafficking, I try to examine the effects of the discourses on this phenomenon, the meaning of the discourses, and the constitution of subjectivities in some women.
For this reason, this research was proposed with the intention of analyzing the perception of women confined in prisons in Puerto Rico for crimes related to drug trafficking, regarding the incorporation of women in this social phenomenon.
