Abstract
Damping-off of vegetable crops in Puerto Rico is of great economic importance. Studies of the causative agent or agents, the symptomatology of the disease, the host-parasite relationship, the distribution, epiphytology and saprogenesis were considered necessary before attempting to formulate pertinent measures of control for this particular problem. It is apparent from the data obtained that Rhizoctonia solani and possibly other organisms are chiefly responsible for the damping-off losses of pepper and eggplant seedlings both in seed and plant beds and in the field.Downloads
