Abstract
The life cycle of the sweet-potato weevil, Cylas formicarius var. elegantulus, was determined. All the stages of the insect were observed and the duration of each one was determined. The life cycle of the insect had the following average duration in days per stage: egg, 7.7; larva, 28.0; pupa, 7.2; preadult, 4.4; adult, 42.5. The life cycle from egg to adult had an average duration of 47.3 days.Downloads
