Abstract
In this study, we examined the impact of some imbalances related to the operation of the capitalist system from the first half of the 1970s and how this affected the economic dynamics of the main capitalist countries. As such, the peculiarities of this process were analyzed in the then-socialist countries. We offer general considerations regarding business improvement, highlighting its place and importance in the context of the economic reform programs developed in Cuba during the 1990s. Finally, we offer some considerations for the major constraints this process faces in the short term.
