Abstract
The film Ikiru by the Japanese director Akira Kurosawa can be interpreted using the concept of Kairos, especially Manfred Kerkhoff‘s concepts of death and time. In this essay I try to give a different take on this film using these ideas of ancient philosophy and modernize the concept of Kairos intertwining it with Philosophy and Film studies.
