This year marks a decade of collective literary origin El Sótano 00931 held at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. This group of young Puerto Rican writers have developed a literary proposal framed in breaking formal and semantic with respect to literary projects that preceded it. Collective nihilism that has been linked, however, about patterns of group behavior and aesthetically compared to how operated the vangarde movements in Puerto Rico, particularly the last two streams: Integralismo and Trascendentalismo. This article examines the correspondence between the two moments of the Puerto Rican literary history, which may arise, paradoxically, a character of continuity or to alert critics of Puerto Rican literary history to the possibility of a cyclical pattern of cause and effect of social phenomena and aesthetic response, particularly in the two historical moments proposed. In addition, this study examines the origin of El Sótano 00931 prior to group bonding in Río Piedras and several samples that exemplify textual ruptures.
