Abstract

The author highlights the complete agreement in thinking, purposes and actions of both outstanding figures since they met for the first time in 1930 until Albizu‘s death in 1965. They even once shared the same prison cell. For both, problems with Justice, accusations and condemnations increased after 1950. Matos Paoli was the longstanding secretary general of the Nationalist party. Although he was accused of subversion, his activity consisted mainly of discourses and patriotic poetry. In 1951, while being imprisoned together Albizu recognized the signs of mental disturbance in his fellow mate. Matos Paoli shared totally the principles and purposes of the Nationalist Party. The author mentions a number of other circumstances in their life, convictions and actions of both men.
