Abstract
Although there is a law in Puerto Rico authorizing the establishment of informal forums for the settlement of disputes and conferring on the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico the power to regulate them, alternative dispute resolution methods are not used as they should be. In this context, this essay exposes ideas that contribute to the better knowledge of the alternative methods so that the use of the same has repercussions in better benefits for our Island.
