Abstract
From different perspectives, this article focuses on the experience and complications of exile and its consequences for literature, together with the way in which Latin American 20th century writers have approached the drama of displacement and diaspora. By analysing a series of dual attitudes considering both the advantages and disadvantages of exile, we also attempt to speculate about the close links between exile, writing, inventive capacity and literary creation. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
