Abstract

An overview of the sexuality of Cuba‘s elderly, as well as ways to treat sexual problems of this population, are presented in this paper. Demographic data relevant to this group in Havana is exposed, as is the debate regarding the different labels that have been developed for this population. Their sexual behavior is discussed with special focus on coital frequency, and the positions used for intercourse, among other issues. A brief description is presented regarding the design and application of a Cuban program of sex education for the elderly. Conclusions stress experiences in sexual therapy for people over 60, as well as future challenges related to older peoples‘ sexuality.
