Abstract

In this article the human sexual process is presented as a complex and dynamic experience whose parts are integrated from uterine life until puberty and are completed in adulthood. It includes the stages and psycho-sexual processes, including gender identity and erotic behavior, and points out the basic experiences needed in the different stages. The author states that one cannot underestimate the importance of sexual experiences in childhood to enjoy a healthy and vigorous sex life in adulthood and, recommends preventive measures in different areas to respond to the essential needs of children and to contribute to the integral development of their sexuality.
