Abstract
The study of the initiations of first year students as a ritual of entrance into the University of Puerto Rico provides the scenario to study the subjectivation of violence as normal, consensual and a desired space for amusement. We propose the study of initiations using various thematic and interdisciplinary theoretical axes: sense of belonging, power relations, transformations of masculinity and femininity, normalization of violence, entertainment, pleasure and spectacle.Downloads
