Abstract

This article explores tendencies in the fields of law and aesthetics in order to contribute to an understanding of new manifestations of violence: in particular, the brutalization of social relations. The article examines the transformations that bear witness to the deflation of the symbolic and discusses these transformations following Jean Baudrillard‘s notions of hegemonic power and integrist violence.
