Abstract
The acquisition of César Andreu Iglesias‘s archive by the Centro de Investigaciones Históricas made possible critical reading of what is believed to be the original manuscript by Bernardo Vega. This essay is a first comparative approach of both texts –the original manuscript and the publish of Memorias de Bernardo Vega (1977)– emphasizing the topics of voyage, tobacco and memory. It aims to establish if there is a particular style of writing that we can attribute to an equally particular community: the migrant working class at the beginning of the Twentieth Century.
