Abstract
A study was made of the distribution and properties of peroxidase in sugarcane. The enzyme was extracted with phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) from freeze-dried tissues which had boon ground to pass a 60-mesh screen. Peroxidase was assayed spectropholoiuetrically at 430 mm, the procedure being based upon the formation of purpurogallin in a buffered solution of hydrogen peroxide, enzyme, and pyrogallol.Downloads
