Abstract
A breeding program for the improvement of corn production in Puerto Rico is being carried on. A number of inbred lines have been developed and tested in top crosses. Results obtained in these tests show that some of these lines possess a high combining value, which is the primary basis for the production of high-yielding hybrids. The data so far obtained indicate that the possibilities for improving corn production in Puerto Rico by developing high-yielding hybrids are promising.Downloads
