Abstract
The work of Paraguayan firm Gabinete de Arquitectura—led by Solano Benítez and Glo Cabral—is simultaneously grand and bold, as well as restrained and modest. By using ingenious formal gestures, their architecture is a statement about structural integrity and materiality, and one of sustainability and planetary responsibility; in this way, it manages to convey a spirit of spectacle without resorting to superficial gimmicks. In this interview, Cabral discusses what it means to truly be a citizen, technical challenges, and the role that materials, education, and climate play within the work of Gabinete de Arquitectura.Downloads
