Abstract
It may be that there is no other Hispanic author influenced by Schopenhauer's philosophy as much as Jorge Luis Borges. This self-declared "Schopenhauer devotee" varies time and time again in his work the system developed by the German philosopher. This essay will not only seek to identify correlation between the two authors, many of which have been accentuated in criticism. It will also examine how Borges read Schopenhauer and why this philosopher was able to influence the Argentinian author on that level.
