Thomas Noel has his BA and MA from the University of California and his PhD Comparative Literature from University of Illinois. He also studied at University of Munich, Germany. He has been at the University of Puerto Rico since at 1970 and was Director of English Department from 1975-79. His interest in Columbus and in early Caribbean history in general dates from years back.
