Tom Sullivan received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1968. His doctoral dissertation was a study of the novels of Thomas Hardy. He has published articles on Chaucer, Defoe, Hardy, Golding, as well as on various popular culture figures such as M.L. Estefanía and Louis L‘Amour. Prof. Sullivan has been granted a sabbatical for the 1987-1988 academic year in order to complete a book on popular culture.
